Join us at the CCEM for our first-ever Open House! This is your chance to meet our expert staff, explore the cutting-edge research happening at the Centre, and connect with fellow researchers, students, and community members. Learn how our world-class electron and ion microscopes help scientists push the boundaries of materials research—from semiconductors to biomaterials—and even “see” an atom with your own eyes! Whether you’re a scientist, a student, or simply curious about the incredible science happening right here in your own backyard, come discover how CCEM supports groundbreaking discoveries and innovation. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore a state-of-the-art research facility and experience the fascinating world of electron and ion microscopy up close!

Event Type: In-person, all ages!
Event Fee: No fee.
Children supervision: Parents/teachers are required to stay on site with their children. CCEM staff and volunteers cannot assume responsibility for the safety and well-being of children left unattended in the building.
CCEM services are designed to provide a safe and welcoming environment for users but parents/teachers need to use the same caution with their children on McMaster’s campus as they would in any other public setting.
Responsibility for the welfare and the behaviour of children at CCEM ultimately rests with the parent/legal guardian/teachers or an assigned caregiver. CCEM recognizes the terms as stipulated in the Ontario Child and Family Services Act (CFSA) with regard to the supervision of children.
Abstract Submission:
Do you want to show off your research to the CCEM and greater Hamilton community? Poster presentations will be available during the the open house. If you would like to present a poster, please submit an abstract to ccem@mcmaster.ca. All high resolution CCEM techniques and application of techniques are welcome – must be a CCEM user.

Abstracts should be 250 words or less in length. Please email your abstracts to ccem@mcmaster.ca
