Date: May 3 2021, 10 – 11 AM Eastern
Location: Online
REGISTRATION IS FREE

A ONE HOUR  interactive virtual tour of the Canadian Centre for Electron Microscopy located at McMaster University. Students will learn things like why we need electron microscopes, what kind of materials we can look at with these microscopes, instruments that can be found in electron microscopy labs and how they work. Technicians will show off the instruments with interesting and relevant materials, such as a comparison between standard and N95 masks. Students will have the opportunity to watch the microscopes in action, and also participate in a live Q&A.

TECHNIQUES

– Introduction to electron microscopy
– Transmission Electron Microscopy
– Scanning Electron Microscopy
