New Users
Welcome to CCEM! We’re excited to have you join our community. Here’s how to get started:
STEP 1 – Initial Contact
- Reach Out: Contact the facilities manager or a member of our technical staff to discuss your project. This is the perfect time to address any inquiries regarding your material and the necessary sample preparation.
STEP 2 – Account Creation
- For Academic Users: If you’re a new academic user, you’ll need to create an account with us. This is the first step in accessing our services and scheduling instrument time.
STEP 3 – Sample Submission
- Describing Your Sample: All users, regardless of their status, must provide a comprehensive description of their sample to the facility manager. This aids in the feasibility review of your proposed work by our staff.
- Approval Process: Once your sample description is reviewed, and the work deemed feasible, we’ll proceed to the next steps which include scheduling instrument time.
- For users unable to attend in person, CCEM offers virtual microscopy sessions. These sessions are conducted through online video conferencing, allowing you to work directly with our operators from anywhere.
STEP 4 – Training
- Instrument Training and Safety: Before starting your work, you may be required to undergo training sessions. These sessions are designed to familiarize you with the equipment and ensure you can conduct your research safely and effectively. Both in-person and virtual training options are available to accommodate your needs.
STEP 5 – Data Collection and Analysis
- Receiving Your Data: After data collection, we provide you with the results. An all-inclusive analysis is also available upon request, tailored to your specific needs.
- Costs: Costs for using our facilities are based on the academic user fee schedule. The facility manager will determine the exact fees, ensuring transparency and affordability.
